[Aside from the apology to the woman -- whose name he'd only just found out -- Anders hadn't said much lately. He'd thought it best to keep his head down. Not only was it a little embarrassing to have been pushed so easily over the edge, but it had been dangerous. For her, not him.
He remembers the little mage girl, terrified of the man who'd tried to protect her from the templar... because of what he'd become before her eyes...
So he's gone out walking. He's been out all day, just keeping in motion. It keeps his mind from racing, and helps map out the general area. As it begins to turn to evening, he finally makes his way back to the keep. Only to find something unexpected.
Hot pools. Steaming hot, in fact.
There's a few minutes of debate and hesitation. But there doesn't seem to be anyone around. And the long day of walking has sort of made him feel a bit sore. That seems to settle it, and the mage shrugs out of his coat. And pants. It's only when he ducks into a pool that he suddenly notices something unusual.
...
He'd never had a tattoo there before.]
Andraste's burned backside--! Where...?
[At least there's no one around to see his confusion. ... For now.]

Action
With a needle I'm guessing. Maybe they just had a lot of spare ink.
Action
But shouldn't we have felt... something? It... [Excuse him a moment while he pokes at it.] Doesn't even hurt. It should be sore, at least. Shouldn't it?
Action
[He's an adult, really he is.]
Magic ink maybe?
[Because magic is always the answer.]
Action
[He will see your childish statement and raise you dull snark.]
... Pity our resident expert in magical ink isn't here. I'm certain we'd have an earful of his opinion on our new decorations.
[Maker, the sarcasm there is just tangible.]
I don't sense anything magical from it... at least, not like we have back home.
Action
[And when he does his life will be complete.]
Can I get you a bucket for all that sarcasm?
[Of course with those two at each others throats again his life would be one step closer to being normal.]
Fantastic! Completely new magic! Maybe it will seep into our blood and give us an insatiable appetite for pickles!
Action
[In answer to the bucket comment, Anders flicks a hand toward Hawke -- and a small wave of water.]
You know very well blood magic doesn't do that. Or... hasn't yet... anyway.
Action
There are worse things blood mages could do. I rather like pickles anyway.
Action
Well, yes. And so do I. But not quite that much.
Action
Maybe they just want to help people eat their vegetables.
Action
... Honestly, Hawke.
[Are you ever serious?]
Action
What? It's just a theory.
Action
Fine. It's a theory. Not a terribly good one, but a theory.
... In fact, I'm not sure how much we can rely on 'magic did it' theories while we're here.
Action
Damn, those are the only ones I know.
Action
Can't come up with anything new?
Action
Saying it was magic just makes things easier.
Action
[He sighs a long-suffering sigh, and decides it'd be a good idea to sink a little deeper in the water.]
Was there anything else you needed? Or did you just come to give me your latest theory?
Action
No I think I'm done here.
[He begins to walk away but stops, looking as inspiration just struck him.]
Wait! Perhaps it's the vegetables that are magic!
Action
[And Anders presses his hand to his temples.]
... I'll look into it.
Action
[Sorry buddy no free show tonight.]
Good, last thing we need are evil vegetables trying to turn us all into vegetarians.
[And now he walks away chuckling to himself.]
